Community Information - Overview

Village of Bartlett

The Village of Bartlett, Illinois was incorporated in 1891, is 14.5 square miles and encompasses three counties: Cook, Du Page and Kane. Population is over 36,000 and the median age is 31.6 based on 1998 figures.

Bartlett Public Library

The Bartlett Public Library serves a growing population with an emphasis on friendliness, a commitment to prompt, efficient service and response to comments and suggestions from the community. Some of the many services offered include: Youth Programs, Young Adult Volunteer Program, Information Assistance, reading Program for Youth and Adults, Paperback Exchange, Audiovisual Materials, Computers, Copy Machines and access to ECC Telecourses.

Bartlett Park District

In addition to over 1200 programs and events, the Park District also has facilities for the community: the Bartlett Aquatic Center, Apple Orchard Golf Course and the new Community Center. 34 parks encompass over 388 acres with 15 miles of bike and walking paths.

School District U- 46

The mission statement of School District U-46 is to provide an education that nurtures and challenges all students to maximize their individual potential to become responsible, productive and contributing members of our community and society.

Bartlett is easy to love. With a population over 36,000, it retains a warm, small town atmosphere. People are friendly and willing to help. Well-maintained homes line village streets. Shopping can be done at locally owned and operated stores and businesses, where the style is friendly and relaxed.

Bartlett is a youthful community, where over 30% of the population is under the age of 30. Residents can enjoy a broad range of park district programs as well as the many parks and bike paths located throughout the village. A new addition to the community is a state-of-the-art community center. The Bartlett Public Library servers our growing population with an emphasis on friendliness, a commitment to prompt, efficient service, and response to comments and suggestions from the community.

Bartlett is located 31 miles form Chicago's famed "Loop", and a full schedule of Metra trains service the village. O-Hare airport is a quick 21 miles, making Bartlett convenient for airport access.
